4 Wheel Parts
4 wheel parts can be found in many auto part store and repair shops. They are aftermarket supplies that can be added to most vehicles to improve their off road handling and power. They are made to stand up to the heavy abuses associated with off road driving such as dust, rain, mud and the wear and tear of bumpy trails and roads.
4 wheel parts are made to much higher standards than most auto parts because they are required to take more abuse. Four wheelers are a social bunch and if someone’s truck breaks down because of a poorly made aftermarket part word will spread and other four wheelers will look elsewhere for that part, and probably other parts as well. Many parts designed for off road vehicles are over engineered, adding weight but also durability.
Installing 4 wheel parts can often be done by the owner of the vehicle in their spare time. Lights, brush guards, skid plates, snorkels even lift kits can be done by people with limited mechanical skill. Air filters are easy to change and modify and can increase performance as well as make the vehicle sound better. Difficult modifications and drive train and engine upgrades should be done by trained and certified mechanics, preferably ones with off road vehicles themselves.
